SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 25, 2012 - Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a world leader in high-performance network security – today announced that it sold its one millionth network security appliance, 10 years since the company introduced the industry’s first multi-function security appliances. This key milestone reflects the significant traction Fortinet has made in the market since its founding to its current position as the fourth largest network security company in the world and the leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) appliances. Fortinet’s millionth unit was shipped to Bell Media, Canada’s largest multimedia conglomerate and owner of Canada’s top television network, CTV. Bell Media purchased a FortiGate 3950B, one of Fortinet’s next generation firewall products, to help secure their critical infrastructure. “Fortinet’s milestone one millionth shipment could not have been achieved without the security innovation, dedication and teamwork of every individual within our company and channel community,” said Ken Xie, founder, president and CEO at Fortinet. “What’s more, we wish to thank our growing base of customers, many of which have remained with us since we shipped our first industry-leading security appliances ten years ago.” “Bell Media chose Fortinet because we want industry-leading security protecting our network,” said Lorenzo Piccioli, senior manager, technology systems at Bell Media. “It’s an honor to receive the one-millionth FortiGate.” Customers looking for the integration of firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention and application awareness and control turn to the FortiGate 3950B. The next generation firewall offers unmatched performance, flexibility and security for large enterprises and service provider networks. High-performance hardware and an easily scalable modular design enable the FortiGate 3950B to deliver firewall throughput to as much as 120 Gbps as well – the highest available in an appliance form factor.
