SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 10, 2012- Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a world leader in high-performance network security – today announced its entry into the video security market with the introduction of the FortiCamera product line, an IP network-based video security solution that extends its comprehensive portfolio of security appliances into a vibrant new market for the company. The first components in the product line are the FortiCam-200D Network Video Recorder (NVR) and the FortiCam-20A network video camera. An appliance based, turnkey video security solution, FortiCamera eliminates the need for software installation, patches or per-user licensing fees.

Built from the ground up as an IP-based video security solution, FortiCamera uses a Web interface, eliminating the need for a dedicated client. FortiCamera is entering a video security market that is highly fragmented, due in large part to the transition from aging analog and CCTV technology to IP-based solutions. Because IP-based video security systems involve routing, storage and search technologies, businesses are seeking solutions that are designed to support network and data management challenges. As an extension of Fortinet’s portfolio of security appliances, FortiCamera is purpose built to address these challenges by delivering data control, protection and archiving capabilities.

"Customers and resellers are faced with bewildering choices when it comes to video security solutions,” said Alan Kaye, senior product manager at Fortinet. “As a complete turnkey system combining powerful network video recorders, IP-based cameras and a Web interface, the FortiCamera provides businesses with a powerful, easy-to-deploy and highly cost-effective security solution that leverages our network and data management expertise.”
