The industry award evaluates only the most innovative products and services brought to the market from March 2011 through March 2012 and then judges them based on vision, leadership and thoroughness.

The FortiGate-5140B offers superior performance, reliability and scalability for high-speed service providers, large enterprises or telecommunications carrier networks. The FortiGate-5140B, running the latest FortiGate-5001B security blade, was named "World's Fastest Firewall" for IPv4 and “World’s Fastest Firewall” for IPv6 traffic when running the new FG-5101C security blade, after delivering 559 Gbps and 536 Gbps firewall throughput respectively, in independent tests by BreakingPoint Systems, Inc. Native 10-GbE support and a highly-flexible AdvancedTCA™ (ATCA)-compliant architecture enable the FortiGate-5140B to protect today's most demanding networks, including cloud-based, multi-tenant security-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service environments. The FortiGate-5140B supports up to fourteen blades, allowing customers to customize and scale their security solution for their unique environments. Customers can incorporate a mix of advanced networking blades such as the FortiSwitch-5203B to distribute traffic to multiple FortiGate security blades, enabling wire-speed firewall performance at 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10-GbE) speeds. They can also incorporate FortiManager and FortiMail security blades in the chassis as well as integrate with virtual or physical FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer appliances to provide centralized command, messaging security, and rich analytics and reporting to help security managers stay fully current with evolving security needs.
